Isabella is a Senior Research Scientist in Arup’s Foresight, Research and Innovation team. She is passionate about the link between building performance, energy use, and people’s behaviour and satisfaction.
Isabella holds a BA in Interior Design and an MSc in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She gained experience as a researcher during her PhD at the Unit Building Physics and Services at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she focused on fit-for-purpose occupant behaviour modelling for building performance simulation.
She was an active member of IEA EBC Annex 66 “Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behaviour in Buildings”, has co-authored 8 ISI journal publications, two conference papers and a book chapter. On top of this, she acts as a reviewer for national research funds and for several international scientific journals, including Journal of Building Performance Simulation, Energy and Buildings, Building and Environment, Applied Energy and Energy Efficiency.
As Senior Research Scientist, Isabella is responsible for the development and dissemination of research programmes at Arup. She work with clients and collaborators across Arup as well as external organisations from a broad range of sectors.
