Dr. Simon Roberts is an industrial physicist who joined Arup in 2001. As well bringing his experience of working in industry he had spent two years teaching science and business education in schools in Kenya. He is the energy specialist in Arup’s Foresight group, and is charged with contributing logical, analytical thought about the many possible futures that could affect us.

Simon is author of two books on photovoltaics, and recently completed a Code for Sustainable Homes assessment to Level 6 (zero-carbon) of houses in Northampton which was a winner in the 2009 Sustainability Awards. Simon is currently working on the “7see” modelling framework. This framework captures the full socio-economic-energy historical statistics of a country in order to design physically consistent scenarios 20 or 30 years into the future.
